Compliment Ninjas!

Writer: Angelina GauthierAngelina Gauthier

For the month of January, our school successful learner trait has been appreciation. This month we are teaching students the art of giving compliments. It has been very rewarding to see the compliment cards coming into the office (I read the names on the announcements before posting them on the bulletin board).

The grade 2/3 class also showed appreciation for others by writing compliment acrostic poems and the grade 1/2 class is doing Compliment Ninjas! Every Friday, each student draws a name from the stick jar, and they watch that person for the day, so at the end of the day they can write a genuine, caring compliment for them. Some kids write multiple compliments! They love the opportunity to share their appreciation for their classmates.
